Food for thought

An initiative started by two MBA graduates, Alok Mody and Rahul Agarwal, Magic-O-Meal has been running successfully for the last three years. With a client base of over 400 — that includes individuals and corporates — their health kitchen is spread over 2,100 sq ft in Andheri (E). “We realise the importance of good food. We aim to combine taste with health, which is why our efforts are focussed on meals that are nutritious, hygienic and tasty,” says Mody.

Here, the best ingredients, vegetables and processes are used to prepare food. Meals are low in cholesterol, high in fibre and provide essential vitamins and minerals. It is packed in airtight, disposable, microwaveable containers. Designed by in-house chefs, the menu has no repetitions for two consecutive weeks. Food is tested daily prior to delivery — this ensures essential food standards are met. Chinese, Italian and fast food are provided once a week. Clients will get an SMS informing them about the day’s menu. The customer care team ensures that meals are delivered to new customers in a timely manner. “We follow a 360-degree feedback system and incorporate changes to improve service,” adds Agarwal.

Magic-o-Meal also provides catering service for events. You can either opt for conventional live buffet counters or executive trays, which are a substitute for live catering. They are attractive, disposable and microwave-friendly.
